PROFILE David Baker

An experienced senior project manager; with experience gained principally within global investment banks; managing complex, multiple and often global projects. David has managed teams of varying sizes (from 5 to 100+ people) and handled project budgets in excess of £10m. Within recent roles David has programme managed business process implementation alongside system developments, bespoke and packaged solutions. Management and co-operation with third parties has been key to many roles.

Recent role was with a major US investment bank; managing the mobilisation phase of the MiFID programme, a high impact EU compliance directive. Involved establishing a management structure, operating plans, running workshops for compliance and IT, communications planning; including hands on design and build of three intranet solutions; firm wide communication, programme control and semi-automated status reporting.

Over 17 years experience within top ten investment banks principally around Debt products; bonds, FRNs, Treasury; FX, CD, ECP, treasury bills  and Derivatives; futures, options, SWAPs, FRAs. Some equities exposure to Shares, Warrants, CFDs, Covered Warrants and Investment Trusts.

The majority of major systems managed within financial markets have been for the middle office (notably P&L systems) and some front office; hands on business roles have been in both the back office and front office.

Methodologies utilised include Agile, VRAD, RAD, DSDM, Waterfall, GSM, PMI and Prince variants. Experience gained from operations through development / business analysis before settling on project management.
